Give Thanks.

Today we started learning about Thanksgiving. We talked about Christopher Columbus, the Mayflower (although to the kids its the cauliflower), the pilgrims, and the indians. They really enjoyed the book Arthur's Thanksgiving.

Taste.

Today we focused on our sense of taste! For art all the kids tried something sweet, salty, sour, and bitter and told me if they liked it or not. The sweet, which was mike and ikes, along with the salty, potato chips, were a hit. The sour, a lemon, and bitter, a grapefruit, weren't such a hit.

Sound!

Today we focused on our sense of sound! For art we put a piece of paper in a container, put 4 marbles in the container, and the kids choice of paint colors, put the lid on and the kids shook the container. They knew the paint and marbles were going everywhere when they were shaking it fast because of the noise, and when they went slow it wasn't moving as much because it was quiet. They loved going really fast and then super slow to hear the difference! After that I pulled out the picture and had them tell me what they saw on the paper.
